2 Additional Schools added January 2015

The Griffin-Spalding County Mentor Program is expanding into two (2) additional schools in January 2015.  Jackson Road Elementary and Cowan Road Middle will begin placing students with mentor volunteers at the start of the spring semester.

Parent/Guardian Permission Packets Available Online

If you are the parent/guardian of a student within Griffin-Spalding County Schools and are interested in your child participating as a student mentee within our program, the required permission forms for participation are now available online for your convenience.  Forms can be located on the GSCS website (http://www.spalding.k12.ga.us) under Community Support -> Mentor Program. 

Mentor Program Expands Into 3 Additional Schools

I am happy to report that the student mentor program is expanding to reach more of our students in Griffin-Spalding County!  Beginning Fall '13, Anne Street Elementary, Atkinson Elementary, and AZ Kelsey Academy will be joining Moore Elementary, Kennedy Road Middle, Griffin High, and Spalding High in the mentor program.  The application system has been updated to include one volunteer job posting for the elementary level, one for the middle grades level, and one for the high school level.  School preference may be stated in the application or given during mentor orientation.

Griffin-Spalding County Mentor Program Launched!

We are now live!  The Griffin-Spalding County Mentor Program has officially launched.  We will be holding training sessions for new mentors beginning in December.  You can find tentative orientation dates by clicking on "Schedule of Events" above.  Applicants will be invited to attend a scheduled orientation upon application and background check approval.
